Open-top vs enclosed skips: which waste container do you need?

Managing waste efficiently is a requirement for industrial facilities and municipal projects alike across the Emirates. Skips come in various shapes and configurations, but the fundamental decision rests on whether you need an open-top or an enclosed container.

Open-Top Construction Skips

These are ideal for heavy construction debris, rubble, tiles, and gravel. The open top allows rapid filling by excavators, backhoes, or manual labor. They are stackable when empty, making transportation to site extremely cost-effective.

Enclosed (Closed-Top) Skips

If your waste stream includes municipal solid waste, food scraps, or chemicals, containment is critical. Enclosed skips feature hinged doors or hatch lids that lock. This design controls unpleasant odours, keeps out pests, and prevents rainwater from mixing with waste, avoiding environmental hazards.
